Compassionate cancer care is medical treatment combined with an equally important sensitivity to the mental and emotional wellbeing of the patient.
At John Fawkner Private Hospital, as well as offering leading chemotherapy and radiation therapy we also offer the Look Good, Feel Better program that helps people manage the appearance-related side effects of treatment.
Ours is a comprehensive, integrated and holistic program led by elite cancer specialists and nurses whose professional life is committed to your wellbeing and happiness.
At John Fawkner Private Hospital, cancer care has come a long way.
Your cancer care
We’re an integrated cancer service, in one location. And by integration, we mean chemotherapy for inpatients and outpatients, radiation therapy, radiology, pathology, specialist surgery, recovery in our dedicated inpatient oncology unit and allied health teams.
Care in one location
We’re proud to be the only facility in the northern suburbs that offers both oncology and haematology. Radiology and pathology are onsite, as is chemotherapy which is administered at our Day Infusion Centre.
The ICON Cancer Centre
The most advanced radiation therapy is used to treat and manage patients, thanks to the Varian Halcyon 2.0 technology installed at our onsite ICON Cancer Centre. This stunning technology delivers radiation therapy faster, in a quieter and more spacious environment. Clinical trials are also available at ICON Cancer Centre.
Holistic and personalised treatment
The diagnosis and treatment of cancer is a tough time for our patients and their family. So while our facilities are world class, we devote as much attention to your mental health and wellbeing.
All patients have full access to allied health support including a breast care nurse, dietitian, physiotherapist, counsellor and a lymphoedema professional. The teams collaborate and run regular multi-disciplinary meetings so they’re across all aspects of your treatment to ensure you receive the best possible care.
You can also access the Look Good, Feel Better program which supports adults and teens to manage appearance-related side effects and boost confidence whilst going through treatment.
